If your idea of the perfect cruiser is a low and long chopper, you now have a fantastic option with the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Breakout® 117 that is now available at Brandon Harley-Davidson®. This model is powered by the Milwaukee-Eight® 117 V-Twin engine. This is an air- and oil-cooled motor and the most powerful engine that Harley-Davidson® offers direct from the factory. There is headroom there as well, and you can claim that additional power by installing the Screamin’ Eagle® Stage IV kit.
What’s New for 2023
The 2023 Harley-Davidson® Breakout® 117 is an all-new model or a continuation of a model after a several-year hiatus depending on how you want to look at it. We think that the changes are substantial enough to call this a new model but one that will appeal to fans of the old Breakout®. The most notable change from a performance perspective is the Milwaukee-Eight® 117 engine, which is now indicated in the model name. For previous iterations, Harley-Davidson® went with the 114. The brand also made revisions to the handlebars and grips to make the Breakout® more comfortable overall but also more accessible to the average rider. It has also introduced new style options with even more chrome.
Color & Design Choices
One of the core design goals for the 2023 Harley-Davidson® Breakout® 117 in Brandon was to lean into the classic Harley-Davidson® aesthetic. Harley-Davidson® has eliminated many of the black accents from the previous design and replaced them with chrome. Vivid Black is the default color scheme and highlighted with Harley-Davidson® orange. The Black Denim option is similar, but the black is more muted, and the orange accents are replaced with various shades of gray. The Baja Orange design is the one Harley-Davidson® has been using in marketing for the Breakout® 117 and perhaps the boldest option. There is also Atlas Silver Metallic, which is a gray-themed motif accented with blue striping on the tank.
Performance & Characteristics
The Breakout® 117 has a 117-cubic-inch engine. As mentioned, you can upgrade that to a 131-cubic-inch engine, and our shop serving Brandon Tampa Lakeland Wesley Chapel can handle that upgrade for you as well. This is a traditional low and long chopper. That means that the profile is low, the foot controls are mounted in a forward position and the seat is oriented so that you’re stretched out. A passenger seat is included as well.
